    Summer Camps A rural retreat with mountains, lakes and fresh air make Plumas County an idyllic setting for summer camp. A variety of camps - some just for kids, others geared for entire families - are located throughout the area.

    Coppercreek Camp. Located east of Greenville near Lake Almanor. P.O. Box 749, Greenville, CA 95947. (800) 350-0006 or (530) 284-7617 (summer).

    Feather River Camp. One of the Oakland Youth Vacation Camps. Oakland Office of Parks and Recreation, 1520 Lakeside Dr., Oakland, CA 94612. (510) 238-3791 or (530) 283-2290.

    Gallagher's High Adventure Camp. This is a boys-only summer camp for ages 8-16, located near Graeagle. Drawer 240, Meadow Valley, CA 95956. (530) 283-5502.

    Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch. A Western-style family camp east of Quincy. 2116 Greenhorn Ranch Road, Quincy, CA 95971. (800) 33-HOWDY.

    Pacific Family Camp. This camp is held at Feather River Inn in Blairsden. UOP Feather River Inn, P.O. Box 67, Blairsden, CA 96103. (530) 836-2623.

    S.P.I.C.E. This is a Chester ranch day-camp P.O. Box 169, Chester, CA 96020. (530) 258-2547.

    Walking G Ranch. Located in Genesee Valley, near Taylorsville P.O. Box 214, Taylorsville, CA 95983. (530) 284-6681.

    Walton's Grizzly Lodge. This summer camp for children ages 7-14. P.O. Box 519, Portola, CA 96122. (530) 832-4834.
